Korea Trade Insurance Corp. (K-sure) is taking an active move into ship sales marketing activities on behalf of domestic shipbuilders to receive new orders. President Kye-ryoong Cho of K-sure has come forward with ship sales marketing by dealing directly with CEOs of first-class overseas shipowners to induce new orders for domestic shipbuilders.

President Kye-ryoong Cho had a meeting at 2pm on Oct. 25 at K-sure’s head-office, Seoul, with Mr. Eyal Ofer, chairman of the world-largest private shipowner group, Sammy Ofer Group Monaco (SOGM Group), discussing on possible shipbuilding orders and K-sure’s financial support.

“The past shipbuilding contracts have been smoothly wrapped up under K-sure’s active financial support,” said Chairman Eyal Ofer. “Owners hope to continuously deal with Korean shipbuilders, but K-sure’s financial assistance is a pressing need because credit crunch caused by the global economic slumps is hampering them.” He called upon K-sure to provide its positive financial support for his newbuilding orders on hand covering 46 vessels worth $3.1billion and for his future orders.

President Kye-ryoong Cho greeted chairman Eyal Ofer with answering, “K-sure will strive hard to provide its flexible trade insurance assistance to Korean shipbuilders, who are now suffering hard due to the latest EU zone financial debt crisis and global shipping slump, enabling them to expand shipbuilding orders.” He added. “K-sure will also pay its best attention to their major projects in order for Korean shipyards to sharpen their shipbuilding edge.”
