Hyundai Heavy Industries Group wins orders worth $8.57b for the Year-to-Oct

Hyundai Heavy Industries Group’s three shipyards have won new orders worth $8.569 billion up to Oct. this year. They have received orders for $7.821b in the shipbuilding and offshore sectors.

HHI Group’s three shipbuilders have recorded orders for $8.569b up 139% until Oct. this year from the same period of last year (on-year). They have secured orders for $7.821b in value up 202% on-year in the shipbuilding and offshore sectors. In Oct. alone, they won a total of orders valued for $1.488b, and $622 million in the shipbuilding and offshore sectors.

For the period of Year-to-Oct., HHI has received newbuilding orders for 37 vessels composed of 13 tankers, 5 containerships, 9 LPG carriers and 10 bulkers, valued for $3.421b. It has received orders worth $258m in the offshore sector, $29m in the plant equipment, and $719m in the marine engines respectively.

HMD (Hyundai Mipo Dockyard) has recorded receipt of orders for a total of 56 vessels worth $1.992b including 43 PCs and 4 bulkers during the period while Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries registering receipt of orders for a total of 28 vessels worth $2.15b including 17 tankers and 4 containerships.

Meanwhile, HHI has order backlog worth $10.631b in the shipbuilding and $4.274b in the offshore; HMD, $4.175b; Hyundai Samho, $4.034b. HHI Group’s three shipyards have order backlog valued for a total of $23.114b as of the end of Oct. this year.
