Tuesday, July 11, 2017, 20:28:16 Paul Yoon ckyoon7@paran.com
Hyundai MM said on July 9 that it has just inked an MOU at a ceremony with Saigon Newport Corp. (SNP) on business collaboration.

Yoo Chang-Keun, President and CEO of Hyundai and Nguyen Dang Nghiem, President of SNP attended the signing ceremony along with 30 related officials on July 6 (local time) at Cat Lai Terminal, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Both HMM and SNP have agreed to share various concerned know-how and increase cargo-flow for joint-development and for stable operation of ships, port and container depot facilities.

CEO Yoo Chang-Keun of HMM said, “We are well aware of the importance of Vietnam in a global logistics market,” and added, “HMM’s cargo volumes in Vietnam will increase by over 50% from last year due to the rapid growth of the emerging markets.”

“This MOU will provide a good opportunity for both HMM and SNP to strengthen the partnership and expand the scope of collaboration, not only in Vietnam but also for our common target in the global scale,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hyundai currently provides four services, connecting Korea with Vietnam via Ho Chi Minh City and Haiphong.
