Dae Sun Shipbuilding bags a 6.5K PC
Thursday, April 27, 2017, 16:27:00 Paul Yoon ckyoon7@paran.com
Dae Sun Shipbuilding has won a newbuilding products carrier (PC) from a domestic shipowner. Dae Sun, a medium-sized shipbuilder based in Busan, officially said on Apr. 25 that it inked a newbuilding contract with GS Cartex Corp. in Korea to build an eco-friendly PC.

The vessel ordered is a tanker of 6,500dwt class same as the one now under construction at Dae Sun for Heung-A Shipping.

GS Cartex is understood to have ordered the vessel at Dae Sun in recognition of its best records of building quality ships with good performance to date.

Sangji Shipping, an associate with GS Cartex, will look after the PC operation, trading in Korean coastal seawaters, Maritime Press understands.

Dae Sun said: “Dae Sun has achieved fruitful results, backed up by its stable operation, by its sustainable technological development to date in design, and by making inroads into niche markets. We look forward to notably making our stable progress amid the ongoing newbuilding market slumps.”
